TransLink increasing service to more summer destinations
More service on 11 bus routes to beaches, parks
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC — Bus service is increasing to more of the region’s top summer spots making it easier to take transit to beaches, parks, and warm weather destinations. On June 27, bus service will increase to and from many popular summer destinations such as Stanley Park, White Pine Beach, and Buntzen Lake.
Some of the routes receiving service increases include:
- Route 19 (Metrotown Station/Stanley Park)
- Providing service to and from Stanley Park, Route 19 will now come every 5 minutes during peak hours, instead of every 9 to 12 minutes.
- Route 150 (Coquitlam Central Station/White Pine Beach)
- Frequencies on this route are doubling and will now come every 30 minutes on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Route 179 (Coquitlam Central Station/Buntzen Lake)
- Service is doubling to Buntzen Lake on weekends, and will now come every 30 minutes between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Other popular destinations receiving increased service include English Bay Beach, Queen Elizabeth Park, Vanier Park, Kitsilano Beach, Belcarra Regional Park, Deep Cove, and Lions Bay.
Increased service in Surrey:
Permanent service increases are also coming to the following routes in Surrey to meet growing demand:
- Route 323 (Newton Exchange/Surrey Central Station)
- Route 323 frequencies will increase by 2-5 minutes, seven days a week.
- Route 324 (Newton Exchange/Surrey Central Station)
- Route 324’s first trip from Newton Exchange will start 10 minutes earlier in the mornings on Saturdays.
- Route 342 (Langley Centre/Newton Exchange)
- Route 342’s first trip from Newton Exchange will start 14 minutes earlier in the morning on Saturdays.
